BISC -Bonny Garner IJS Competiton 2013

Club Bonny Garner IJS Competiton Tuesday 26th March 2013 at 5.15pm

Congratulations to everyone who took part in our first and very successful IJS Bonny Garner competition last week. It was a brave decision by our Club Competition Secretary Jo Boland to pioneer this club competition as the IJS software is known to be a little tricky and certainly without the results skills of Mark Stevens and a personal hotline to IJS expert Gwyn Davies it would not have been possible. However with our first IJS Opens just a few weeks away it was important for those skaters who had not competed at IJS previously to receive that all important performance feedback in the form of a pdf slip detailing their marks for elements and levels and grade of execution as well as overall skating skills. Judge Christine Harper and Technical Specialist Richard Lambert were pleased to have assisted with this competition and their encouragement and support was much appreciated.

Grateful thanks go to Jo Boland, Mark Stevens, Laura Hetebrij, Steven White, Hannah Hetebrij, Jo Armitage, Emma and Gary Wakefield and John Bailey.

Bonny Garner 2013

Original Competition Information:

The Bonny Garner Competition for NISA Levels 1 and over will take place on Tuesday 26th March at 5.15pm. This is the second part of the clubs annual free skating competition, the beginner event took place on the 26th February.

This competition is for skaters to showcase their free skating programme prior to the Bracknell Opens in April. This year the competition will be judged using the IJS judging system so skaters will need to complete a programme content sheet and submit it with their competition entry form. We suggest you speak with your coach if you have not completed one of these forms before and we recommend you keep a copy once it is completed as you will need it for the Bracknell Open. A copy of the abbreviations for elements can be found on the club website. A NISA judge and techncial specialist will be marking the competition and the results will be input into the IJS software.

As we have not run a club IJS competition before we are not sure whether we will be able to give out the results on the night, or if we will need to announce them the following day. Every endeavour will be made to get them out on the night however we can't guarantee this will be the case. We do believe that this is a big step forward for the club and will prepare our skaters for the Bracknell Open which is also being judged using the IJS system.

Please send your completed application forms in as early as possible. Copies of the entry form and the content sheet can be downloaded from our club website. The deadline for applications is 12th March 2013. Please note, this is earlier than usual as we need time to input the programme content sheets into the IJS system. We look forward to receiving your entries and if you have any questions please direct them to:
