National Team Challenge Show Number 2017

The National Team Challenge is an inter-club competition held in July each year. It is held over a day with a series of dance, free and artistic classes and culminates in the show number. Each club enters up to 8 classes plus the show number (which is compulsory). The teams then collect points for their positions in the events and the club with the most points at the end of the day is the overall winner.

NTC Competition Information:

This year the NTC will be held at Lee Valley on Sun 2nd July.

In order to take part in the show number skaters must hold a minimum of bronze passport* and have completed the signup sheet by Tuesday 11th May. Each team is allowed to field 30 skaters in their show number, so in the event of the sign up being oversubscribed a team of 30 will be selected. This selection is non-negotiable

To be considered for the show number skaters will need to be able to commit to attending all the on-ice rehearsals and the NTC competition day (dates are listed below)

Please note: you will need to commit to attending each rehearsal from the beginning of the session to the end of the session. Failure to attend rehearsals without a good reason could lead to you being asked to leave the show number.

If you are ill, injured or competing in an Open competition on a rehearsal date, please inform Lizz Nelhams by email at lizz.nelhams@tmi-systems.com as early as possible. These are all acceptable reasons for not attending a rehearsal.

The cost for each skater wishing to take part

There is a £10 charge for participation in the show number. This fee is payable at the point of application to take part in the show number. In addition, we may use a coach to travel to Lee Valley as a team on the day. Parents are also invited to travel by coach, subject to numbers and a small additional charge.

Entry to the show number requires ALL skaters to be members of NISA so if your child is at passport level or is not a current member and they wish to take part, then they will also have to join NISA. The current charge is £55 for the year. Please visit http://www.iceskating.org.uk/

Finally, we will endeavour to make use of costumes and props that the club already has. Any additional costs to the skaters for additional costumes and props will be kept to a minimum.
