Bracknell Ice Skating Club Opens 2013 - 22nd to 26th April 2013
We are very proud and pleased to report that all feedback has been extremely positive and complimentary from both officials and competitors who attended Bracknell’s 2013 Open IJS Competition. Running one of the first major IJS events outside the remit of IJS Southern, Hull and Scottish IJS which was supported by NISA trained officials and the successful execution of what was initially considered to be ‘mission impossible’ was indeed a great achievement both for the development of skating and our club.
Lead and co-ordinated by our courageous Competition Secretary Laura Hetebrij, a core number of people facilitated yet another ‘first’ for Bracknell Ice Skating Club, proving IJS can be done at club level and creating a blueprint format for any club wishing to follow suit. It was certainly a challenge but our determination to succeed overcame all obstacles enabling the club to deliver an extremely successful and well run and attended event. Huge and grateful thanks go to Laura Hetebrij, Jo Boland, Nicki Torrington, Christine Piggott, Mark and Deborah Stevens and everyone who helped on gate, registration, music, hospitality, time keeping, video camera etc and made this event possible. Special thanks go to Christopher Hockaday who stepped in to take on technical roles at very short notice. Our thanks also go to rink management and staff who supported us as ever throughout and particularly this year to the maintenance team who built the platform for the IJS equipment.

Original Bracknell Opens 2013 Competition Information:
Bracknell Ice Skating club thanks everyone for their interest in participating in the competitions this year. The draw has now taken place and the Orders of skating are available on the website. We would ask all entrants to check the timetables before travelling for any updates due to withdrawals etc.
On the day - there is ample free parking and entrance to the complex is free. The rink cafeteria will be open from 7am for refreshments.
The reception table is located rinkside to the left of the entrance. Music will only be accepted on CD and should be clearly marked with your name, club and class, and have only one track recorded. We advise you to bring a spare copy of your music on the day. Please ensure you are ready to skate 30 minutes prior to the start of your class.
As the draw has now taken place, no further entries will be accepted from the reserve list and cheques for all on the reserve list will be destroyed. We apologise for the disappointment caused to those who did not get a place in the competitions and would like to assure you that we are already looking at strategies on how to avoid this happening again next year.

If you wish to take any photos or videos of your child/skater please register at the reception desk first. No photography is allowed in the changing rooms.

* PLEASE NOTE * THAT DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERNS THE RINK MANAGEMENT HAVE CONFIRMED THAT PATCH ICE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR OUTSIDE COMPETITORS DURING THE PERIOD FROM SATURDAY 20th APRIL UNTIL FRIDAY 26th APRIL INCLUSIVE.
